Examination and grading regulations

Module exam:
We offer two written exams (one shortly after the end of the lecture period and one toward the end of the lecture-free period). To successfully complete the module "Probability theory", it is necessary to pass one of the two exams.
Dates will be announced.

Admission to the exam:
Admission to the exam requires:
  • active participation in the tutorial sessions, and
  • successful completion of the exercise sheets, i.e., at least 50% of the achievable points in the assignments.
Students who have passed the first exam are not admitted to the second exam.

Exam registration:
To be announced.

Policy for repeat attempts:
Exam admissions from previous unsuccessful attempts in the module "Probability theory 1" will be recognized.
Please contact us directly via email at: <lehre-sip[at]math.uni-heidelberg.de>.

Withdrawal:
Anyone who is ill at the time of the exam or unable to attend for similarly valid reasons must submit a medical certificate without being prompted. In this case, the exam will not be considered failed and the student will not receive a grade of 5.0. The exam can be taken at the next regular opportunity.

Grading:
The module grade is determined by the grade of the passed exam, or a grade of 5.0 if none of the attempted exams are passed.
